Research in social sciences, neuro-economics and ethics

The federative research structure Health & Society, created in 2011, brings together researchers from the Grenoble-Alpes University (12 laboratories) as well as actors from economic, political, social and health sectors (it will soon integrate the MSH Alps). This structure aims at supporting interdisciplinary research on health problematics with social issues. Its scientific areas are:

  • Care pathways
  • Care management systems
  • Patient education
  • Social health policies
  • Evaluation of the use of health and care technology
  • Ethical issues of medical and social treatment.

This structure promotes social valorization of the research, creates multidisciplinary training courses, and offers an expertise in health issues to professionals, general public, local government and associations. This structure takes part to the IDEX UGA project, in the “Plan d’Investissement d'Avenir PIA 2”.

In addition, the ThEMAS team (TIMC) is involved in the transverse Therapeutic Patient Education Unit of the University Hospital of CHU (first structure in Rhones-Alpes created in 2008 - coordinated by Professor B. Allenet) for Parkinson (ARS labeled for 2 years), myasthenia and epilepsy (authorization file being finalized).
